WEBSITE OF THE DAY -- new7wonders.com
As I mentioned in this week's story on Rio, a committee has been organized to choose the Seven New Wonders of the World, out of a list of 21 nominees. The results will be declared in a ceremony on July 7, 2007 (07/07/07) in Lisbon, Portugal. If you want to vote for amazing sites like Cristo Redentor in Rio, the Colosseum in Roma, or the Great Wall of China, then log on and cast your vote now.

WEBSITE OF THE DAY- NYCGarages.com
Are you traveling to NYC? If you're bringing your car (not a good idea, because they have the best mass public transportation in the country), this new website will help you find the best parking garage in Manhattan. You can search by neighborhood, address, cross street, even by attraction. An oversize map displays all your options. Click a garage icon to see detailed information: exact address, phone number, garage capacity and hours of operation (you don’t want your car to be trapped overnight!). The coolest part is that you can compare all garage rates in the city (daily and monthly rates). Indicate your exact date and times, and you'll see what each garage charges for that period. It almost makes you want to drive to NYC!

WEBSITE OF THE DAY- Ironicsans.com/state22.html
This might sound like a basic website, but it's one of the most challenging for many Americans. The moment you click the link above, a 10-minute clock starts to run. Your job is to try to name (and spell correctly) all 50 U.S. states. It was more difficult than I thought – but after some racking my brain I finally figured out the one state I was missing (I won't tell you -- you might have the same problem). I finished with 4:22 left on the clock, and it felt as if I was in a suspense movie trying to break a code before my house blew up. It's tense, but also fun and educational.

WEBSITE OF THE DAY -- BodyClock.com (The Jetlag Calculator)
I may not be a doctor, but I think I have mastered jet lag (at least for me). I try to adapt to local time ASAP. For example, if you're taking a long red-eye flight and arriving early in the morning (for example, Australia), instead of going to sleep when you arrive, go out in the sun (or somewhere bright), and get some exercise or keep yourself busy so you won’t fall asleep. To help get adjusted, I set my watch to local time as soon as my plane takes off. Once I arrive, my goal is to stay awake until at least 10 p.m. The first night of sleep is crucial for me, because it sets the pattern for the entire trip. That first night I sleep with an eye mask and ear plugs, so I won’t be disturbed. For more information, check out this jet lag calculator that advises people when to seek and avoid bright lights.
