TIP OF
THE WEEK by Chris
McGinnis:
If your flight is delayed and you're
traveling with children, find a quiet section
of the airport where you can spread out. Bring plenty of snack foods, books and
toys to keep your children occupied until you can get on your way.
From Chris McGinnis's Monthly Newsletter for
Atlanta Based Travelers
As part of the new "customer
service commitments" enacted by the airlines last month, almost all
increased the maximum amount they will pay, from $1250 to $2500, if they destroy or lose your bag on a domestic
flight. Downside: The amount airlines pay for bags lost or destroyed
on international flights remains a paltry $9.07 per pound, an amount enforced by
the archaic Warsaw Convention rules printed on your ticket.
