How far in advance does Southwest allow you to purchase tickets? You can purchase for travel four to six months in advance, The airline shortens and lengthens the window (within those parameters) at various times of the year. Currently, the travel deadline is September 18. Most other major airlines allow purchase for travel as much as 331 days in advance.
