The Airport & City Code Converter combs through several government databases to provide mapping, market and travel info for airports around the country.
With this handy tool, you can look up the airport and city codes used by the airline industry, or find their corresponding cities. Included are maps; airport weather and status reports; airline market data; and links to books, music, travel-related items, and lots of information about cities and (U.S.) states.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>WHERE'S JOHNNY JET?<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Greetings! For some strange reason I don't have a lot to tell you (It must be writers block).  Remember a few weeks ago I tipped you off that if you are going to be seeing a show in NY, to go to TKTS for half price tickets? Remember? If not click here. Since most of you probably won't click that link, I will sum it up. I told you to go to the TKTS ticket office that no one knows about in the world trade center, not the one in Times Square because (as you can see) the line wraps around the ticket booth. I didn't have a picture for you that week to prove my point, so when I walked by the other day I couldn't resist snapping it. Now you know I wasn't lying :-}.
Speaking of last minute, I decided to go home to L.A. and relax for a long weekend. It was great. I had nothing to do, NO weddings, NO dinners, NO luncheons, and NO appointments. NOTHING!
We took a taxi to and from JFK because I'm fed up with the car services (shocker). We arrived on time with no hassles and had my bi-weekly arm wrestling match with the Bartender at the Red Carpet Club.
The flight was smooth, and quick. We landed late, and took a taxi home. It's funny, I don't have a problem with taxi's in NY, but I do in L.A..  I am not sure if you live so close to an airport, that when you tell the taxi driver where you live they get irate. If you live in one of the beach cities in LA, you know what I mean. Every time, I jump in the taxi from LAX the dude starts yelling, swearing and slamming doors. Without fail they say (with an accent) "I stand in the taxi line for two hours, for what? A $15 ride to Manhattan Beach?". I am so sick of hearing them complain, that now I mess with them (NY is definitely making me harsh). Once I give them my bag I tell them what they want to hear: "Hollywood please" (that's a $40 cab ride). Then I get in, and say "never mind, I think I will go to Manhattan Beach instead". That drives them nuts. If you really want to see them go berserk, try my favorite: After telling the driver your going to MB (and they freak out), say you are lucky, the guy behind me was going to Orange County".
The highlight of the weekend was going to my favorite breakfast place; Uncle Bill's Pancake House. The line is always long on weekends, but it's nice just to sit there, relax, read the paper and say hello to friends who walk by. You also have to watch out for the crazy guys who are still drunk from the night before.
The weekend went by quick, too quick in fact.  The next thing I knew I was back at LAX, waiting for my flight to NY, and this time I had a friend drop me off.

TIP OF THE WEEK:   By Chris McGinnis
Ten Ways to Know You Have too Many Carry-Ons
According to Southwest Airlines, you know you have too many carry-ons when...
1. Other customers keep asking, "So, where are you moving?"
2. It takes you longer to load your bags than it would to charter your own airplane.
3. You actually packed the kitchen sink.
4. You need two cars to get to the airport.
5. Your carry-on bags are bigger than you are.
6. You are told your carry-ons alone exceed the baggage weight for the entire plane.
7. You can't walk down the aisle without knocking out other passengers.
8. Your luggage takes up the entire side of the plane.
9. You have more bags than arms.
10. It takes you longer to get your bags off the plane than it does for checked luggage to arrive at baggage claim.

GOOD TO KNOW!
FairAir Issues World's First Transferable Airline Ticket
Passengers Can Now Sell Their Airline Tickets if Their Plans Change
The balance of power in the airline industry shifted in favor of the flying public today. FairAir has just introduced the
world's first fully-transferable airline ticket. Airline passengers are now free to buy -- and sell -- their airline tickets. An introductory release of the service is available now at www.fairair.com, where transferable tickets on select routes are available from FairAir's inaugural airline partners.
In partnership with Worldspan, FairAir has created the technology that allows airlines to issue fully-transferable tickets. Today, FairAir's inaugural partners are offering their fully-transferable airline tickets exclusively through the FairAir Web site. It is FairAir's long-term plan to use its infrastructure as a platform that enables every airline and travel portal to issue and manage their own fully-transferable tickets on their own Web sites. Online travel sites and airlines that employ the FairAir concept will be able attract new customers and generate new revenue streams through their own branded online destinations.
Travelers who purchase airline tickets through FairAir can legally change the name on their ticket. If travel plans change -- and they often do -- a friend, colleague or family member can use the FairAir Ticket, or the owner can offer to sell the FairAir Ticket on the open market.
As the FairAir community grows, last-minute travelers will be able to find seats on fully-booked flights by offering to buy FairAir Tickets from other ticket holders. FairAir will facilitate a thriving secondary market in FairAir Tickets, so that buying and selling airline tickets becomes a common part of travel planning.
``The only thing airline passengers have heard more frequently than 'raise your tray table prior to landing' is 'this ticket is non-transferable,''' explained FairAir co-founder and CEO Frank Levy. ``The mission of FairAir is to change that. With FairAir, passengers may buy, sell and transfer airline tickets the same way they buy and sell stocks. They can give their FairAir Ticket to their spouse or co-worker, or find a willing cash buyer on the FairAir Web site who wants that ticket more than they do.''
Book On-The-Phone or Online
FairAir Tickets are standard e-tickets issued directly by FairAir's airline partners. Before a passenger purchases a FairAir Ticket, they know exactly which flight they are booking, how much they are paying, the scheduled departure and arrival times, the number of stops en route -- and every FairAir passenger always receives frequent flyer miles.
Passengers can buy FairAir Tickets by calling FairAir's toll-free reservation number (866-325-3232), or by visiting the FairAir.com Web site. FairAir Ticket holders can later change the name on their ticket or put their ticket up for sale by offering it on the FairAir.com Web site.
Passengers pay a small fee to FairAir when they buy and sell FairAir Tickets. During this introductory period, the fee to change the name on a ticket through FairAir is just 6% of the initial ticket price, or a minimum of $24.95.
FairAir Partners Are Flying Nationwide
FairAir has already signed cooperative agreements with Northwest Airlines, America West Airlines, Midway Airlines, and National Airlines. The FairAir travel network covers Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, Orlando, San Francisco, Seattle and many other cities.
