>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>LETTER FROM THE
EDITOR<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Hello Everyone! This is a great
week! My Yankees swept the Braves and I broke the 100,000 mile plateau needed to
achieve (and renew) 1K status on United. I did it on a flight to New
Orleans. IF you haven't been here you need to come. Bourbon
street is always "going off" and the food is awesome. Most
tourist's know that they need to eat at Emeril's, Commander's Palace, Mother's
for a "Po Boy" (an $8 mean sandwich), The Court of Two Sisters, and
Cafe Du Monde (for coffee and beignets). For all you Italian lovers out
there, check out Tony Angello's. The southern flare makes it soo
good. This place is not helping my diet.
Happy Halloween and don't forget you get an extra hour Sunday morning in the U.S. (Fall Back).
***Please take the time to send me the email addresses of your friends who travel, and any tips or comments you might have.

TIP OF THE
WEEK by Chris McGinnis:
AIRPORT SAFETY TIPS
BAGS IN
THE BATHROOM: Never hang purses, coats or other belongings on the
door hooks of restroom stalls. All a thief needs to do is reach over the door
and grab them while you are preoccupied. Instead, place them around your neck,
or on the floor between your feet.

WEBSITE OF THE
WEEK http://www.holidayfestival.com/
Have you ever
travelled, perhaps on business, only to find on arrival that your customers are
all on holiday or that instead of five days work, you will, due to National day
or religious celebrations, get only two? I have, and it's very
frustrating, so I decided to try to put together a page to bring together as
much information about National holidays as possible by providing either links
to other pages in the net which have appropriate information or else, where that
is not available, including it in these pages..

First USA will soon
announce another reversal of its position on surcharges for foreign
purchases: Before the end of the year, the bank will begin to add its own 2
percent surcharge to billings in foreign currencies. However, at least for now,
First USA will exempt the mileage-earning cards co-branded with United Airlines and British Airways from the surcharge:
Travelers who use those cards outside the United States will continue to pay
only the 1 percent conversion fee. For the full story, please visit
