JET?<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
First of all, my deepest condolences go out to
all those affected by flight AA587. What a shame. I took off
from that same runway 36 hours before and thinking about what happended
makes my stomach turn.
Was it mechanical or was it a bomb? I don't
know, but if it was the latter, you can guarantee the travel industry will
take an even bigger blow than 9/11. Although I still feel it is safer
to fly then it ever was in the U.S., I do feel the American people need
to demand that checked bags get screened for bombs just like carry-ons.
The Positive Bag Identification thing is not going to work, because we
now know people are willing to give up their life for mass murder.
I don't want to scare or deter people from flying, but this matter needs
to be addressed-ASAP!
Before landing in L.A., the pilot came on the
PA and said, "We are over Phoenix now and will be touching down in
about an hour. I want you you all to know that I have ordered the flight
attendants not to serve any more alcohol because of a situation with an
abusive passenger.... Thanks for flying United, and enjoy the rest of your
flight." Enjoy the rest of your flight??? I sprang up out of
my seat like a hot potato and went back to the galley and asked the Flight
Attendants (who I knew from previous flights) where the boozer was.
They said, "In seat 2C." I told them, "You know I am here if you
need me. I'm ready to kick some _SS!"
Why would the captain announce this to everyone?
Why couldn't they just stop serving that one jerk? The FA's told
me "to inform everyone in case he really gets out of hand, that everyone
knows that they might need to help because the Captain and the First Officer
are not allowed to leave the cockpit".
I thought that announcemnet would've made everyone
uptight, but it didn't. All the passengers remained calm, but I could
tell much more alert.
This month is busy for me because I have four (4) moves, including a
very emotional one: my parents
house. It's the place where my parents raised four kids and
a dream. It's just not the same anymore without my Mom and it's way
too big for my Dad to live alone. We
moved pieces of furniture that haven't been touched in thirty-eight
years. We dismanteled
shelves that haven't been empty since I can remember. It wasn't all
work though. We took a lot of breaks, remininsced, and went
into the basement to play some Ping
Pong! The best way I can describe my childhood home is by
using this sign
my brother made when he was a kid.
LMNT's single has been released!!!
As you all know I have been working with the band LMNT. They
have been working really hard on getting their single released, so please
support them and buy "Juliet". It's in stores today or buy it online
at Amazon.
The cost is only $1.99, so buy 10 and give them out as stocking stuffers.

EARLY BIRD DINERS.
Don’t mind eating early? In an effort to fill empty tables and improve
spirits, New York City restaurants now offer an all-new, comprehensive
guide of deep discounts and early-bird specials for seniors (those over
age 50) at over 300 restaurants. Call ahead and ask if your restaurant
participates in the program. Or, before your trip, see the online guide
at http://www.nyc.gov/html/dca/html/dinenyc.html.
(We’ve heard that anyone can get the deal if they ask for it, no matter
their age. Some of NYC’s top restaurants are participating, like Four Seasons,
Vong, The Monkey Bar, Aquavit, among many others.)

GOOD TO KNOW!
DOCTORS RATE 10 BUSIEST HOTELS ON FOOD QUALITY
The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) has rated
the nation's ten busiest airports on the availability of healthy food
choices. San Francisco International Airport landed the highest marks
with 96 percent of all its restaurants offering low-fat, high-fiber,
cholesterol-free meals. Detroit's airport scored the lowest with only
33 percent of its restaurants serving nutritious fare.
The endeavor brought up some sobering (if not surprising) facts. Among
them: less than 60 percent of the airport restaurants offer healthy,
vegetarian meals. Los Angeles International is home to no fewer than
four McDonald's and four Burger Kings, and Las Vegas is full of
barbecue and sausage stands.
Travelers concerned with deep vein thrombosis (potentially dangerous
blood clots that can form anytime a person is sedentary for a prolonged
period) might take note. There is a heightened risk period for several
health risks that begins when you consume high-fat food that takes
several hours to dissipate.
PCRM's airport food ratings, indicating the availability of healthy
food choices, from best to worst: San Francisco International; Minneapolis/St.
Paul; Chicago O'Hare; Denver; Los Angeles; Phoenix; Dallas/Fort Worth;
Las Vegas; Atlanta; Detroit Metro.
A restaurant was rated "healthy" if it offered at least one low fat,
high-fiber, cholesterol-free entree. To get their percentage scores, PCRM
divided the number of "healthy restaurants" by the total number of
restaurants.
The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine is a nonprofit health
organization that promotes preventive medicine, especially good
nutrition, and higher standards in research. It's comprised of 5,000
physicians and more than 100,000 other members.
