>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>WHERE'S JOHNNY JET?<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Greetings from Palm Beach! It's always nice to be with family, and somewhere warm. This past week has been full of travel :-). When I last wrote- I was in Phoenix (have you ever wondered what they decorate with Christmas Lights?).  When I got back home to L.A., I opened up my mail to a pleasant surprise. It was a gift from United (making amends for this past summer).  Check it out: they offered me (all 1K's) the choice of 25,000 bonus miles,  1 year at the Red Carpet Club, 2 Int'l UG's, or 4 Domestic UG's. Pretty nice huh? I chose the miles, you can never have to many. I love miles!
Did I tell you I got suckered at a beauty salon by 5 really nice Vietnamese women? Well, on Sunday my girl needed to get a manicure, so instead of waiting in the car for 15 minutes I chose to wait inside (BIG mistake). All of you men out there learn from my mistake; DO NOT go inside. Once I walked in the door, the ladies attacked me, and told me I needed to get a manicure. I said "OH NO those are for women", but they didn't listen and they buttered me up (they told me "to look at those cuticles, that's not healthy"). The next thing I know, I am sitting in a chair, and I have one lady working on my hands, and another working on my toes. That's right they made me get a pedicure too. That's not all they made me get this crazy thing call Paraffin (it's where they stick your hands and feet into hot wax, and ...). I ended up spending way too much money.

Next stop was Florida. I had a ticket L.A.-Miami, but when I found out my girl was working that morning L.A.-Chicago, I decided to keep her company, and go for the long route: LAX-ORD-MIA.  I have to tell you,  I hate looking out the window when landing in cities where it's freezing cold, brown, and depressing (such as Chicago in November).
After a few more hours we landed in sunny, and warm FL. Hopped on the hertz bus, and I sat next to the driver. I picked the driver's brain (like I always do). I have learned in my life that when you are nice to people they will always treat you the best. Instead of dropping me off at the Gold Counter, the driver said your car is far (about 20 yards), and he insisted on taking us to the car. Not only did he drop us off, but he loaded the trunk with our bags (while everyone else was still on the bus). My car was supposed to be equipped with a neverlost (those GPS trackers are key for cities you are not familiar with).  When I noticed no neverlost, I had to wait about 15 min for a new car that had one (because I didn't get all crazy on the workers at the counter, they gave me the tracker for free $50:-).

We are very fortunate to be staying this week at a friend of our families Palm Beach House, it's so awesome! The pool house where we are staying has 3 bathrooms, and 4 bedrooms. I'm living the privileged life this week. We also have passes at the world famous Breakers Hotel. Here is a pic of my Dad Golfing, and a picture of me at the beach. I also had a chance to cruise down to Lynn University in Boca Raton, and visit with my good friend Ed K.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone, be safe and have fun traveling this week (be patient and leave extra time and you will have a great trip).

Next Week: Miami & L.A.

GOOD TO KNOW!
Airport Express Offers Thanksgiving Travel Tips
CHICAGO, Nov. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- More than 240,000 people will be passing through Chicago's airports on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, which means traffic jams, crowded airports and frustrated travelers.

To help alleviate some of the stress and hassle associated with holiday travel, Continental Airport Express, the premiere ground transportation company in the Chicago area, has compiled a list of helpful tips:

    1.  Before You Head for O'Hare, Call 773-686-2200
O'Hare provides automated flight status service.  Before you leave
your house call and check if your flight is on time or delayed.  This also will be helpful if you are picking someone up and want to
minimize the time spent waiting at the airport for flights to arrive.

    2.  Leave Early for the Airport
Allow an extra hour for traffic jams and long lines at the airport.

    3.  Utilize the Facilities and Amenities Provided by the Airport
If you and your family arrive early, take advantage of the children's  play center located in terminal two at O'Hare, or arrange for a free tour of an airplane.  The airport also has many new restaurants and
gift shops if you need to pick up last minute gifts or just pass the time.

    4.  Limit the Size and Number of Carry-on Bags. Airlines are enforcing restrictions on the number and size of bags you can carry on the airplane.  Pack light, and allow for just one carry-on per person.

    5.  Never Leave Your Luggage Unattended
Not only can your luggage be stolen, but, for security reasons, airport personnel are required to confiscate unattended bags.

    6.  Bring identification
You will be asked to present a driver's license, state ID card or other valid photo identification when you check in.

    7.  For Families and Groups, use the Buddy System.
O'Hare is the world's busiest airport and has many distractions -- especially for small children.  Make each member of your family or group responsible for one other member.  Work out a specific plan before you get to the airport

    8.  Leave Your Car at Home
Even if you manage to weave your way through the traffic jams, you may not be able to find a parking place near the airport.  The lots fill up fast.  If possible, use an alternative mode of transportation such as the train or Airport Express.  To meet the increased demand for service, Airport Express augments its fleet of vans by 20% during the holiday season, providing a safe, convenient and economical way to get to the airport.

``We've been providing transportation to the airports for more than 50 years,'' says Continental's president, John McCarthy. ``As a result, we've become very familiar with the most common holiday travel concerns and have devised this list to help people experience a safe and enjoyable holiday.''

Continental's Airport Express service carries more than one million passengers to and from Chicago's airports each year. In addition to all downtown hotels, the company services Lincoln Park as well as most suburbs. For reservations, call 1-800-THE-VAN.
