Bogota Marriott Hotel, Colombia
I was staying at the brand spanking new
Bogota Marriott Hotel,
which is located on Avenida El Dorado in the center of Bogota's newest business and commercial district, Salitre. It's adjacent to the city's industrial district, which is home to many of the country's largest and most important businesses. What's nice is that just two short blocks away in the other direction is a quiet residential neighborhood that's supposedly safe to stroll around. I did just that, admiring the unimpressive apartment buildings that looked about 20 years old.
FYI: The Marriott is only a 10-minute drive from the airport and they provide a free shuttle to and from. A Marriott representative was waiting for me (and two other guests) as previously arranged.
